The Ohio Council of the International Reading Association supports and promotes literacy to help all Ohioans reach their full potential and develop a life-long love of reading.

Ohio Reading Hall of Fame 2008 Inductee - Ruth A. Oswald Associate Professor, Literacy Education at The University of Akron

Undergraduate Scholarship Winner – Roy T. Ryser
Roy is a junior at Youngstown State University. He is enrolled in the Middle Childhood Education Program with concentrations in Language Arts and Social Studies.

Past President’s Scholarship Winner– Marianna Arvidson
Marianna is enrolled in the Literacy Specialist Endorsement program at The University of Akron.

Classroom Literacy Grant Winner – Mark Melnek
Mark is an Intervention Specialist for grades 9-12.
